Scott Globus '84

Scott graduated from MIT in 1984 with a degree in Physics, and not so eager for life in a lab, or a career in the dominant industries of the era, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue a photography project. Since that time he has worked in various capacities in the media business, started a dotcom, casting.com, and worked as an M&A advisor and business consultant.

That said, since 1990, Scott’s principal activity was to study and practice meditation and help develop a meditation center in the Bay Area. Scott served for over 20 years as president of Orgyen Dorje Den, a meditation center under the guidance of Ven. Gyatrul Rinpoche. Scott has had the good fortune to study closely with Gyatrul Rinpoche, and other Tibetan masters as well, including Bhakha Tulku Rinpoche, Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche, Khenpo Namdrol Rinpoche and many others. Scott lives with his family in San Francisco, and practices meditation, at least a little, every day!
