Mark Platshon
Mark Platshon is an entrepreneur, serial Silicon Valley CEO and experienced venture capitalist. He invests across the mobility and energy sectors, focusing on technologies that enable smart cities, ACES transportation and carbon neutral energy. Recently he has invested in Commonwealth Fusion Systems and advises Serva Energy, which is developing smart nuclear fuels and radio-isotopes for cancer therapeutics.
Mark co-founded Amprius, a Li-ion battery company that he and Professor Yi Cui spun out of Stanford to pioneer silicon anodes. He also helped BMW build i-Ventures from 2011 through 2016 and was an early investor in Tesla, ChargePoint, Helm, Seurat, RideCell, Nauto, Turo, Zendrive, Populus and others.
Mark has a BSE in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Stanford University. As a US Naval officer, Mark worked directly for Admiral Rickover as a member of his nuclear submarine engineering staff.
