Matthew Baggott, PhD, is co-founder and CEO of Tactogen Inc, a public benefit corporation that is developing a next-generation of MDMA-like medicines. Matthew is a neuroscientist, data scientist, and psychedelic researcher, with over 30 years experience studying how psychedelics can be made safer and more effective.

Matthew studied philosophy as an undergraduate at U. Chicago and earned a PhD in neuroscience at U.C. Berkeley. In the late 90s, he was part of the first team to receive federal funding to administer MDMA to healthy volunteers; he went on to supervise about a hundred sessions with MDMA and MDA. Before starting Tactogen, Matthew was a Director of Data Science & Engineering at Genentech.
