Kashif Riaz, Managing Director, is a Portfolio Manager with BlackRock’s Fixed Income group. He focuses on U.S. Credit on behalf of a broad range of active fixed income mandates spanning pensions, mutual funds, and absolute return funds. His responsibilities encompass portfolio management, assessment of top-down macroeconomic and industry drivers, development and communication of investment themes and strategies, and driving business and organizational strategy.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Riaz was a Portfolio Manager in the Financial Institutions Group, responsible for managing a variety of credit-focused portfolios for global insurance clients. From 2010-2015, he served as the Head of Investment Grade Credit within BlackRock’s Global Capital Markets team. He managed BlackRock’s primary market activities in the investment grade corporate bond market and contributed to the development of BlackRock’s public positioning on bond market structure and liquidity. Mr. Riaz co-authored several BlackRock ViewPoint and BlackRock Investment Institute publications on these topics in 2013 and 2014.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2010, Mr. Riaz spent over 12 years at J.P. Morgan, spanning Investment Banking Coverage and Debt Capital Markets. He has extensive experience with corporate finance advisory assignments and M&A transactions, acquisition financings, equity offerings, and bond offerings.
Mr. Riaz received an MBA degree from Columbia University in 2005 and an SB degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1998.
Mr. Riaz serves as a Director of two non-profit organizations, the American Pakistan Foundation and I-Care Fund America, a donor-advised charitable fund.
