MITCNC/HBSANC: Civic Engagement Series - The Role of Tech in Democracy
Oct 03 - San Francisco

In collaboration with the Harvard Business School Association of Northern California, we are excited to present an expert panel to discuss the emerging focus on CivTech and how it will continue to shape the way people engage with government and each other.

Technology has a growing role in the way that everyday Americans interact with their community and the government. The result is an emerging new field known as CivTech, which spans the for-profit, non-profit, and political sectors. Civically minded individuals would benefit from understanding the current state of CivTech, as well as the continued importance that Silicon Valley will play in its development.

This CivTech panel will include Gisel Kordestani (CEO of Crowdpac), Minnie Ingersoll (COO of Code for America), and Steph Hannon (CPO of Strava & former CTO of the Hillary Clinton campaign).

Our moderator, Shireen Santosham (CIO, City of San Jose), will lead a discussion around the emerging focus on CivTech and how it will continue to shape the way people engage with government and each other.
