MIT Media Lab’s Pentland: Toward New Economic Models Using Data Unions
Oct 29 - Virtual Event

Prof. Sandy Pentland has been an MIT Professor since '86 and was this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner at the MIT AI Conference. (replay link)

As an individual, Google and Facebook will not pay much for your data.  But when we band together in a Data Union, we can protect our identity and our data and help us negotiate with data aggregators.  More than that, a Data Union supports the community it serves by enabling new insights from our shared data to empower novel business opportunities as well as enhance the well-being of the community.  The concepts of Narrow Bank and Crypto-currency complement Data Union to support community investments into public projects similar to Agricultural Credit Unions.
