3 American Generations: from Railroad Worker, Flying Tiger, to General
Oct 14 - Virtual Event

Join us for an inspiring hour exploring American history and celebrating Chinese Americans' contributions to and achievements in our country, as reflected in three generations of Chinese American pioneers: from Railroad Worker, to World War II Flying Tiger, to US Army General.

Chinese American men and women persevered and overcame great odds to help build and serve our country, despite discrimination and adversity. Their true grit, sacrifice, and commitment to a better future for their children and community have enriched all of our lives. Today, we stand on their shoulders as their living legacy, a testament to their vision of a better life and a better future. They show us that as a Nation, together we can do better.

In this webinar, retired Army Major General William Chen, the first Chinese American to wear 2-star rank in the U.S. Army, will take us through the three generations of his family. He will then be interviewed about addressing challenges and resolving issues by Air Force Major Kevin Liu (MIT SB '08, Aerospace Engineering).
