Esteban Guerrero has helped business and government leaders solve hard problems and make better decisions for People, Profits, and Planet for 20+ years.  He has delivered value globally to organizations such as the California Energy Commission, GE, Facebook, Schlumberger, The Nature Conservancy, and others, in the public, private, and non-profit sectors; and in industries, such as auto, telecom, healthcare, and Big Tech.

Esteban’s recent work includes leading Big Tech efforts to deliver Circular & Ethical Design for datacenter hardware; devising updated Sustainability frameworks for more effective action; consulting for the Brown administration, The Nature Conservancy, and others; and a clean-energy submarine desalination tech start-up.  Esteban holds multiple degrees in business, engineering, and public policy from Monterrey Tech in Mexico, MIT, and Stanford; his two MIT degrees earned in 2003 were MS Mechanical Engineering and MS Management.

Why did you decide to volunteer with the MITCNC?

To stay connected with MIT, as well as to network for future opportunities.

Tell us a bit about your role with the MITCNC. What are your responsibilities in this position?

I help the VP of Energy & Environment and the team come up with topics for events, as well as help with registration and other tasks at the events.

What exciting things can we expect to see from your area of focus in the coming months? (e.g., social events, speakers, etc.)

We just had Tom Steyer last month, I will be moderating an event with David Hochschild (Chair, California Energy Commission) next week, and we’ll be having John Holdren speak next month.

Describe one of your most memorable MIT moments.

Multiple talks and lectures opened my eyes to the World of Possibility and the Power of Moral Leadership.
