Brian Neal
Medical Physicist

Brian Neal is a medical physicist working in radiation oncology. He majored in physics and mathematics at UC San Diego as a Regents Scholar. Brian worked as a development engineer in the semiconductor industry for several years, before earning a PhD in physics from UC Davis studying the theory of quantum phase transitions. After post-doctoral work computing lung function using deformable CT image registration, Brian completed a medical physics residency at the University of Virginia, where he focused on megavoltage imaging during radiation therapy treatment. He is currently practicing at a proton therapy clinic in New Jersey.
