Barry Cinnamon is CEO of Cinnamon Energy Systems (CES), a Silicon Valley solar and energy storage contractor. Previously he was the founder and CEO of Akeena/Westinghouse Solar. Since 2001 he’s completed over 10,000 residential and commercial solar installations, many with batteries. He earned a BS Degree in MechE from MIT (his thesis was on a new thermal solar collector that he tested on the roof of the Nuclear Engineering building), and an MBA degree in Marketing from Wharton. He is a licensed California C-46 Solar and C-10 Electrical Contractor, NABCEP Emeritus solar installer, host of the weekly Energy Show, 2020 San Jose Energy Champion, and former CALSSA President and SEIA Board Member. He prefers fusion over fission, obeys the Laws of Thermodynamics and loves it when his customers happily call the office when their neighbor’s power is out but their battery backup system is keeping their lights on and their fridge cold.
