Event Open to the Public
California has long been a leader in addressing climate change. Through a suite of policies and programs aimed at advancing renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, California is working to create an energy system that is clean, modern, and safe. The record setting heat events and wildfires occurring in August and September highlight the need to ensure that as we move to a 100% clean energy future, we do so in a way that is equitable to all Californians and maintains the reliability of the energy system. California has a long tradition of valuing resource diversity and fostering innovation. Chair Hochschild will talk about the state’s progress in getting to 100 percent clean energy, and the variety of technologies being used to achieve that goal, including storage.
