MIT FULL STEAM Ahead is a collection of resources that MIT is putting together for Teaching, Learning, Parenting and Gaming. These resources are meant as a rapid response to the need for online resources during the COVID-19 pandemic. The weekly packages include:
Week 1 - Learn about what is on everyone's mind right now - COVID-19. This packages covers the topics at levels suitable for different grades. Understanding this confusing time can help manage it.
Week 2- This week will focus on invention with help from the Lemelson-MIT Program. Projects for K-12 are now online.
Week 3 - Exploring and Living in Outer Space! A series of activities that explore topics ranging from designing and launching satellites to eating in space.
Week 4 - Making Music and Sounds with the MIT Edgerton Center
The packages are coupled with activities for different grade levels:
- Grades K-2
- Grades 3-5
- Grades 6-8
- Grades 9-12
MIT FullSTEAM mission is to create and share high quality resources to facilitate digital and non-digital learning for K-12 and lifelong learners. By providing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) based instructional materials and an open forum for users to share insights, we aim to inspire a diverse global community of educators, students, and parents to find innovative solutions to the challenges of learning at a distance.

SUBMISSION DEADLINES FOR UPCOMING CHALLENGES K-12
Here’s a fun idea for remote learning. Is your child great at explaining concepts? Students could create a video for a chance to win PRIZES.
We have two challenges out there
(1) COVID-19 handwashing video challenge - fun for all ages event little ones, and
(2) Kids Explaining COVID-19 - students are encouraged to help educate the world about his global health crisis by sharing in their own words (prose or poetry or code) and submit a video
